Knowing Jesus

Do you have Peace with God?

The Problem - Separation From God

"For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." Romans 3:23

This means that everyone since Adam & Eve inherited a desire to sin. One needs only look at a room full of preschoolers to sin that sin is our natural tendency. Every parent knows that children need correction; they do not naturally do what is right.

The Result - Spiritual Death

"For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans 6:23:

God is holy and just, which simply means He can not tolerate sin without just punishment - death and eternal judgment. It is not because He is cruel, it is just His nature. Like oil and water, sin and God do not mix.

God's Solution - His Death In Our Place

"But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: while we were still sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 5:8:

God's incredible love for us made Him provide a solution to the problem. There had to be punishment for sin or God would not be just, so God Himself took our punishment for sin so that we might spend eternity with Him.

Your Salvation - By Faith

"That if you confess with your mouth, " Jesus is Lord" , and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved." Romans 10:9:

"For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God- 9 not by works, so that no one can boast." Ephesians 2:8-9:

"By Faith" means saying that you understand that you can not save yourself. You acknowledge that you have sinned and that you need a Savior. You accept God's gift of grace and allow Him to begin to change you.

What do I do now? - Talk to God

"Whosoever calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." Romans 10:13:

If you desire the free gift of god it begins with a simple prayer of need:

Dear Jesus, I know that my way of life is just not cutting it. I know that I haven fallen short of what you desire for my life. I am a sinner in need of a Savior from the judgment I deserve. I believe you gave your life for me and were raised from the grave, showing your power. I pray you will forgive me and show me mercy because of what you have done. I want you to take over my life and give me a new heart and desires. Thank you for saving me! Amen.
